Pilgrimage: Panch Kedar Yatra are five Hindu temples or holy sites in the Himalayas in the Garhwal region in the Indian state of Uttarakhand. Temples are dedicated to Shiva and are important pilgrimage sites for Shaivites. Panch-kedars are described in many legends that associate their origin with the five Pandavas — the heroes of the ancient Indian epic "Mahabharata".

The history of the creation of Pancha Kedara
The story of Panch Kedar is directly related to the spiritual journey of the Pandavas, the mythological heroes of the Mahabharata. According to legends, the Pandavas felt unhappy because of the bloodshed that happened during the war with their cousins, the Kauravas. On the advice of Rishi Vyasa, all five Pandava brothers, along with their wife Draupadi, travel to the Himalayas to meet Lord Shiva to express remorse. However, Lord Shiva did not want to meet the Pandavas because he was displeased with the bloodshed.
Therefore, he disguised himself as a buffalo and appeared in 5 different places in the Himalayas. However, Bhima recognized him and started chasing him. When he pulled the bull out of the tail, his body flew to 5 different places, where Lord Shiva himself appeared in his divine form to meet and forgive them for all their unintended transgressions.
The hump of the bull appeared in Kedarnath, the torso appeared from Madhyamaheswar, his arms appeared in Tungnath, his face appeared in Rudranath, and his hair appeared in Kalpeshwar. The temple built by the Pandavas was located in Kedarnath, which is considered one of the 12 Jyotirlings present in India.
